Zoya and Naru

This heartwarming journey follows Zoya, an orphaned elephant calf, and Naru, a boy from a nearby village who sets out to help her find her herd again.

Guided by ancient African proverbs, the story speaks of the interconnectedness of all species, unconditional friendship, generosity, and harmonious coexistence. A children’s book at heart, its message will inspire children ages 0 to 99, to choose kindness above our differences.

The book focuses on one of the most pressing tragedies of the day, the manmade peril faced by the African Elephant.

All profits from ‘Zoya and Naru,’ the number 1 best-selling children’s book at Exclusive Books, Cape Town, South Africa, are going to the African charity ‘Elephants Alive.’ The book, published by Jacana SA, has become part of a major African literacy program, distributed free to schools all over South Africa.

“A compelling tale of friendship, courage and hope in the face of adversity.”
